New build, “net-zero” energy, fully sustainable home
Location: Florida, USA
Description: Aurora was a sponsor of the national initiative Zero Energy America and the exclusive LED lighting provider for the 4,500 sq. ft. “zero energy” home built by internationally recognized builder Marc Rutenberg Homes. The “green” concept home uses solar panels and other low energy solutions to achieve energy independence and self-sustainability.
Aurora worked with the team from the beginning to design the lighting placement around each room’s use, layout, chosen textures and colors, and even furniture placement. Creative use of Aurora’s LED strip lighting accented the home’s interior design details. Approximately 141 Aurora warm white PAR30 LED bulbs provide ambient light throughout the entire home.
The result was an exquisitely executed application, and expected energy savings of 80-88 percent compared to traditional lighting technologies.
